If the system is low, we refill it with the refrigerant your vehicle needs, to the amount the manufacturer specifies, and check it performs. Different cars use different refrigerants, and we confirm yours in your quote.
Air con repair
If something is at fault, such as a leaking pipe or seal, a damaged condenser, a failed compressor or a faulty sensor, we explain what needs doing and why, and repair or replace it.

Air con questions, answered
How do I know if my air con needs a re-gas?
If it is no longer as cold as it was, particularly in traffic, it is probably low on refrigerant. A check shows the pressures and whether there is a leak, so you know for certain rather than guessing.
Is a re-gas the same as an air con service?
No. A re-gas refills the refrigerant. A service also checks the pressures, tests for leaks and looks at the compressor and the cabin filter, so we find out why it lost its chill instead of just topping it up.
How often should I have my air con serviced?
A common suggestion is every two years, or when the performance drops. There is no need to re-gas a system that is working perfectly, but a regular check catches a small leak before it becomes a failed compressor.
Why does my air con smell?
Usually bacteria in the evaporator or a dirty cabin filter. A clean and a new filter normally cures it.
Can I re-gas my air con myself?
DIY kits exist, but they cannot find a leak or measure the charge properly, and overfilling can damage the system. A proper service is better. There is more in our guide to why your air con is not cold.
