Privacy and cookies

How we look after your information, and what the cookies on this website do.

This page explains what personal information M D Auto Care collects through this website and when you deal with us in other ways, why we need it, who sees it and what your rights are. We have tried to keep it plain. If anything is unclear, call us on 01296 706969 or email info@md-autocare.co.uk.

Who we are

M D Auto Care Ltd, 54/55 Rabans Close, Aylesbury, Bucks HP19 8RS. We decide how and why your information is used, which makes us the controller of it under UK data protection law.

What we collect, and why

01

When you ask to book online

Your name, mobile number, email address (if you give one), vehicle registration, the work you would like, the day and time you would like to bring it in, and anything you add in the notes. We use it to review your request, to contact you to confirm your time or suggest another, and to carry out the work. We may contact you by phone, text message, WhatsApp or email about it. The booking calendar is provided for us by LeadConnector.

02

When you call, email or visit

What you tell us, and the details of your vehicle and the work, so we can deal with your enquiry, give you a quote, carry out the work and keep our service records.

03

When you use the chat

The messages you type and any contact details you give, so we can reply. The chat is provided for us by LeadConnector. The same goes for the box that may appear as you leave our website: what you type there is passed to our AI chat assistant (CloseBot), which writes the reply, and our team can read it. Please do not put anything private in it.

04

Reviews on our home page

The reviews shown there are shown by a reviews service we use (Reputation Hub). They are reviews that customers have chosen to leave about us.

Why we are allowed to use it

  • To deal with your request, quote or booking and carry out the work you ask for
  • Our legitimate interests in running a garage, keeping records of the work we do and keeping our website and systems secure
  • Legal duties, such as keeping accounting and MOT records
  • Your consent, for the non-essential cookies described below, which you can take back at any time

Who sees it

Our own team. We also use companies that help us run the business, such as the ones that host this website, run our booking and workshop software, send text messages, and provide the chat and the reviews. They handle your information only to do that job for us.

We do not sell your information. Where a company we use is based outside the UK, your information may be processed there, with the safeguards that UK law requires.

How long we keep it

Only as long as we need it for the reasons above, including to meet legal and accounting duties and to look after you if you come back or if there is a problem with work we did.

Your rights

  • See the information we hold about you
  • Have it corrected
  • Have it deleted, where we do not need to keep it
  • Limit or object to how we use it
  • Receive it in a form you can move elsewhere
  • Take back a consent you have given

To use any of these, call us on 01296 706969 or email info@md-autocare.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies

Cookies and similar technologies are small pieces of information kept in your browser. This is what this website uses.

01

Essential: your cookie choice

Remembers whether you accepted or rejected, for up to a year, so we do not keep asking. It stays in your browser and tells us nothing about you.

02

Chat (LeadConnector)

Lets you chat with us from any page and pick a conversation up where you left it, by keeping identifiers in your browser. It only loads if you accept cookies, so if you reject them you will not see the chat button. You can always call or book online instead.

03

Facebook pixel (Meta)

Tells Meta when you complete an online booking, send us an enquiry or press a call button on our website, so we can see which of our adverts lead to a booking or a call. It does not report the pages you look at. It sets cookies called _fbp and _fbc. Our own pages send nothing to Meta unless you accept. Meta explains how it uses information at facebook.com/privacy/policy.

04

Google (analytics and advertising)

Tells Google when you complete an online booking, send us an enquiry or press a call button on our website, so we can see which of our Google adverts lead to a booking or a call. It does not report the pages you look at. It sets cookies whose names start with _ga or _gcl. Nothing is sent to Google unless you accept. If you arrive from one of our Google adverts, the web address contains a click code. We keep that code in the address bar as you move around our site, without storing it on your device, so that if you choose to accept cookies we can tell Google the advert led to a booking or a call. Google explains how it uses information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

05

Online booking calendar (LeadConnector)

The booking calendar on the Book online page is another company's page, shown in a frame. It runs its own scripts, including one from Meta, and may keep its own cookies, which we do not control and which do not depend on the choice you made here.

06

Reviews panel (Reputation Hub)

The reviews on our home page are shown by another company's service, in a frame. It may keep its own cookies, which we do not control.

Change your mind

You can change your choice at any time with the button below, or from Cookie settings in the footer of any page. If you reject after accepting, the page reloads so the Facebook pixel and the Google tag are removed and the cookies they set are cleared.

Changes to this page

We may update this page from time to time. This version was last changed on 19 October 2026.
